Educar al adulto mayor para promover la agricultura familiar y elevar la calidad de vida

Abstract

La Cátedra del Adulto Mayor de la Universidad de Guisa desarrolla una investigación en la comunidad Corralillo Arriba. Este se ejecuta a partir de una serie de problemas diagnosticados en la zona. La problemática abordada en este trabajo es la falta de abastecimientos de hortalizas y viandas en la comunidad que afecta la calidad de vida de los adultos mayores. El objetivo de este trabajo es capacitar a los abuelos del aula del adulto mayor para la creación de huertos familiares en la zona y contribuir a mejorar la calidad de vida de los mismos. Como consecuencia se logra una alimentación más sana y un mejor nivel de vida. Para la ejecución de la investigación se impartieron charlas, se desarrollaron talleres, se utilizaron métodos como la entrevista y la observación. Como resultado los abuelos aprendieron un método práctico más económico y viable para agregar alimentos sanos a la canasta familiar.
