Abstract

El artículo incluye un análisis de las nociones de crecimiento y desarrollo, así como la relación entre ellas. Establece una relación entre las mencionadas nociones y la de prosperidad contenida en el pensamiento de José Martí, para ello hace un breve estudio de la evolución de la idea de la prosperidad en la obra martiana. Todo lo anterior es considerado una necesidad ante la misión de la educación de favorecer la comprensión y asunción de un proyecto de nación centrado en una noción de la prosperidad resultado de la evolución de la que en el siglo XIX expusiera Martí. Declara la necesidad de pensar la educación no solo desde la perspectiva técnica sino también moral como herramienta para construir sociedades prósperas en el siglo XXI.
