El diseño gráfico como vehículo de las ideologías

Abstract

Este ensayo presenta una visión crítica del diseño gráfico como instrumento del desarrollo de las ideologías, proponiendo argumentos que defienden que sí es posible usar la función social del diseño desde una perspectiva del bien común tal como lo constata el inspirador ejemplo del africano Chaz Maviyane. En su respectivo orden la primera y segunda parte de este documento realiza un recorrido por la definición de las variables de interés: el diseño gráfico, su vinculación con la esfera publicitaria y lo que se entiende por ideologías desde el contexto marxista. En los otros 3 puntos se plantean preocupaciones en cuanto al rol que la publicidad ejerce en el campo ideológico, y el del diseñador gráfico en las redes culturales, para plantear la discusión de cuáles pueden ser los otros disparadores sociales en el consumo de mensajes. Finalmente se expone el esperanzador caso de Chaz Maviyane como parte de un creciente número de diseñadores que se interpelan creativamente para exponer sus ideas sociales en pro de un mundo mejor, nociones que se resumen en el epílogo.
