Factores biológicos, psicológicos y sociales que afectan la salud mental

Abstract

La salud integral del ser humano sufre alteraciones por diversos factores que afectan su calidad de vida. El propósito de la investigación consistió en determinar la prevalencia de los factores biológicos, psicológicos y sociales en la salud mental de los habitantes de Portoviejo; es un estudio de tipo descriptivo, con enfoque cuantitativo y cualitativo; se utilizaron los métodos de síntesis, análisis y estadístico. Se aplicó una entrevista a diez psicólogos clínicos del sector público y privado y una encuesta a 264 personas de 18 a 45 años de edad, de ambos sexos. Los resultados evidencian que los factores con mayor prevalencia en la salud mental de los portovejenses son los sociales, vinculados con los factores psicológicos; así como, el área con mayor afectación es la familiar, seguida de la económica y laboral. Entre los síntomas con mayor evidencia se registra la preocupación, aspecto que a largo plazo puede propiciar problemas en la salud mental y física que afectan el bienestar y la calidad de vida de las personas.
