Intervención del psicólogo clínico en la salud mental

Abstract

El propósito de esta investigación es caracterizar la intervención del psicólogo clínico en la salud mental de los pacientes que acuden a consulta pública y privada en la ciudad de Portoviejo. Para la puesta en marcha de esta investigación cuali–cuantitativa, se realizó la revisión y selección de una amplia bibliografía actualizada y pertinente; se aplicó una entrevista a diez psicólogos clínicos que se encuentran en el ejercicio y una encuesta a 264 habitantes. De acuerdo a los resultados, el profesional de Psicología realiza su intervención mediante una valoración sistemática en el área biopsicosocial que le permite establecer un Plan Personalizado de Intervención. Este se basa, principalmente en el Psicoanálisis, Cognitivo- Conductual, Humanista, de acuerdo con las situaciones y características del paciente; la población que mayoritariamente acude son niños y adolescentes que presentan problemas conductuales y por lo general abandonan sus tratamientos por motivos personales e institucionales, lo cual afecta la eficacia de la intervención psicológica.
