Abstract

Las primeras décadas del siglo XX cubano, marcaron el languidecimiento de las potencialidades emancipadoras de la modernidad burguesa, fundamentada en el iluminismo endógeno del siglo XIX y la búsqueda de nuevas vías para la liberación. La lógica social, en la misma medida que consolidaba la penetración estadounidense en la Isla y, consiguientemente, reducía la presencia del capital nacional en la economìa; señalaba las limitaciones del modo de producción capitalista para materializar el espíritu humanista de la modernidad burguesa endógena, concretizada en su ideal de República libre, equitativa, igualitaria, fundamentada en la pequeña propiedad y en la presencia fundamental del capital nacional industrial.
