La geografía regional. Una aproximación a su construcción desde su dimensión desarrolladora, integradora e interdisciplinaria

Abstract

La idea de trabajar en perfeccionar o mejorar el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje de la Geografía Regional ha sido una tarea desarrollada por el autor de este artículo durante más de 40 años. Trabajar en función de que esta disciplina no sea considerada una asignatura memorística, aburrida y facilona ha sido su objetivo en el decurso histórico d como docente e investigador tanto en la educación de pregrado, como postgrado. Coincidimos y defendemos que es la Geografía Regional, la encargada de mantener la unidad de la Geografía, pues reúne alrededor del espacio terrestre diversos elementos extraídos de los discursos de geólogos, climatólogos, botánicos, hidrólogos, demógrafos, etnólogos, economistas, historiadores, entre otros. Por lo que su objeto es lograr una integración, donde los elementos naturales y sociales estén presentes en todo momento, interrelacionados con los diferentes componentes de la naturaleza y la sociedad. Por lo que el objetivo principal de este trabajo es acércanos a una Geografía Regional que los alumnos y estudiantes piensen desarrollando su pensamiento creativo; que se logre un proceso integrador e interdisciplinario. Y que se mantenga un proceso de actualización permanente.
