Abstract

El deterioro a escala mundial de las condiciones ambientales ha conducido a la comunidad internacional a declarar una crisis ambiental sin precedentes en su historia. Esta realidad requiere que todos los sectores de la sociedad se sensibilicen con la conservación del medio ambiente como alternativa de supervivencia. Ante este contexto, en las instituciones financieras cubanas y específicamente, en la actividad bancaria, constituye una necesidad la incorporación de la dimensión medioambiental como variable estratégica en su proceso de gestión con el propósito de hacer ecoeficientes sus servicios y contribuir al desarrollo sostenible. El presente artículo tiene como objetivo diseñar un procedimiento para la evaluación de la ecoeficiencia en las instituciones bancarias cubanas que robustezca la gestión ambiental empresarial.
