Metodología para la prevención hidrológica de eventos meteorológicos extraordinarios en el Valle Jibacoa

Abstract

Con este trabajo se busca facilitar el pronóstico de inundaciones en el Valle de Jibacoa, zona del macizo montañoso del Escambray, perteneciente al municipio Manicaragua, provincia Villa Clara. En el mismo se analizan y comparan los métodos aplicados en Cuba y en otras regiones del mundo y como resultado se propone una metodología operativa y sencilla partiendo de la lluvia caída sobre la cuenca que mediante gráficos combinados permite pronosticar el volumen y la cota topográfica que alcanzara el agua en el mencionado lugar, herramienta que en manos de los órganos de la Defensa Civil permite la toma de decisiones a la hora de evacuar personal o recursos de la economía a su debido tiempo, con lo que se mitigarán las afectaciones que puedan producir los eventos hidrometeorológicos extraordinarios.
