Investigación, competencias profesionales y envejecimiento poblacional. Una aproximación

Abstract

La formación y el desarrollo de los profesionales deben desarrollarse según las demandas que los cambios sociales hacen a la práctica educacional. En los momentos actuales, el envejecimiento, resulta uno de los cambios poblacionales más dinámicos y urgentes al incrementarse las personas mayores en Latinoamérica. En este escenario la investigación deviene decisiva, en tanto la ciencia permite adoptar medidas preventivas, correctivas y retroactivas que permitan orientar al envejecimiento como una oportunidad para el desarrollo social y no un problema de incalculables consecuencias para la estabilidad de las sociedades. El presente artículo analiza, de forma abreviada, la necesidad de incrementar la investigación del desarrollo de las competencias profesionales en el marco de los colectivos laborales envejecidos, manifestación del envejecimiento poblacional que ahora acontece en el subcontinente, asunto que requiere la participación de la comunidad científica de esta región como garante y dinamizadora del desarrollo de estas competencias.
