El Centro Universitario Municipal como gestor del desarrollo local sostenible en el municipio La Palma

Abstract

En una economía globalizada, y altamente competitiva como la actual, el desarrollo de las sociedades depende en gran medida de su capacidad para incorporar conocimiento y tecnología. En este contexto, las universidades, como principales productoras de saber, juegan un relevante papel incorporando su contribución al desarrollo económico y social como prioridad pertinente de los procesos universitarios de formación, investigación y extensión. La inserción del Centro Universitario Municipal de La Palma, en la red Gestión Universitaria del Conocimiento y la innovación para el desarrollo se consolida como un ente dinamizador del conocimiento y la innovación en función del desarrollo local sostenible, en interconexión con redes nacionales y centros de investigación. El trabajo expone las experiencias del CUM de La Palma como gestor del desarrollo local sostenible para impulsar la estrategia de desarrollo local hasta el año 2030, con la participación de los principales actores del territorio y el rol protagónico del gobierno para una mayor pertinencia de la universidad en el municipio.
