Propuesta de mejora de los servicios asistenciales para el adulto mayor en ecuador

Abstract

En Ecuador los Servicios Asistenciales al Adulto Mayor en condición de dependencia, para desarrollar Actividades de la Vida Diaria, tienen aún mucho por mejorar. Si bien esta temática registra avances importantes, sin embargo, existe aún una brecha significativa, en la habilitación de derechos de los ancianos, en comparación a sociedades como la española que tienen mayor experiencia en la materia. En este sentido, el presente artículo identifica las oportunidades que existen para mejorar los servicios asistenciales, así como también de propiciar nuevas fuentes de trabajo a través del incentivo para arrancar emprendimientos formales que den respuesta a las necesidades de cuidados especializados a domicilio y Teleasistencia. Todo esto privilegiando la figura de atender al adulto mayor en su propio hogar, sin desvincularse de la mirada continua de las personas quienes deben ser los directamente responsables de su cuidado, esto es, sus familiares.
