Abstract

Frente a las líneas generales que caracterizan a las micro, pequeñas y medianas empresas (PYME) de alojamiento turístico en parte de Latinoamérica, donde el común denominador es la baja intensidad de capital, altas tasas natalidad y mortalidad, presencia de propietarios/familiares como personal de labores, bajo nivel de inversión en innovación, dificultades para el acceso a fuentes de financiamiento externas y finalmente personal semicalificado o no calificado; genera inconvenientes para ser competitivos en un mercado tan exigente como es el turismo, el objetivo de este artículo es aportar evidencia empírica de cómo están desarrollándose las PYMES de alojamiento turístico en la Provincia de Pastaza y a partir de la teoría existente realizar un análisis conceptual y dar a conocer el trabajo efectivo que pueden realizar esta empresas basado su trabajo en la competitividad y sus implicaciones, puesto que podrán renovar las condiciones de vida de los distintos núcleos de la población en la provincia.
