Abstract

Con el fin de obtener de información sobre las tendencia comercial de plantas ornamentales en la ciudad de Machala, surgiendo la necesidad de realizar un análisis, para contribuir con datos específicos para la sociedad en general, planteando los siguientes objetivos: a) Analizar el comercio de plantas ornamentales que se expenden en los viveros de la ciudad de Machala; b) Obtener información cuantificable de la oferta de especies ornamentales comercializadas en la ciudad de Machala; c) Identificar el segmento de mercado que más demanda plantas ornamentales. Empleando una metodología teórica descriptiva en la que se empleó, encuesta estructuradas que se aplicadas a todos los viveros registrados de la ciudad recopilando información primaria, obteniendo que seis de los siete viveros comercializan plantas provenientes de las ciudades de Milagro, Quito y Santo Domingo, que en conjunto representan el 80% de las plantas ornamentales, lo cual aumenta el precio final del producto por su costo en transporte. De nuestro estudio podemos manifestar que se comercializo 175 especies vegetales, identificando a los que los clientes más frecuentes que fueron mujeres con edades de 30 a 40 años y las preferencias está determinada por plantas perennes con flores llamativas como las rosas, geranios, peregrinas y veraneras.
