Abstract

El crecimiento del Software Libre, en todos sus ámbitos de uso, ha sido digno de mención, el número de puestos de trabajo en los que se usa el Sistema Operativo Linux ha crecido sobremanera en especial en ambiente de Servidores. Las grandes y pequeñas empresas comienzan a darle mayor crédito, el mantener su operatividad se torna un riesgo e impacto económico, uno de los dilemas que deben enfrentar los empresarios es el pago de software licenciado el cual incurre un gasto bastante considerado y esto afecta en su mayoría a las organizaciones ya establecidas. En este trabajo, estudiaremos la posibilidad de tener herramientas y software desarrollado bajo código abierto, con el único objetivo, brindar una alternativa ante tanto monopolio elitista, esta alternativa nos brida un mundo de programas útiles, fiables, más que todo seguro, robusto, estable, con soporte y de forma gratuita, en beneficio de todas las áreas, que son la Sociedad, Empresas, Educación y Gobierno.
