Venezuela, Cuna Del Continente Libre (1810-1812)

Abstract

El presente artículo valora los rasgos fundamentales de la Primera República de Venezuela (1810–1812), en busca de apreciar su trascendencia histórica. Para su realización se utilizaron fuentes primarias, como actas de congresos, proclamas, testimonios y escritos de importantes líderes de Hispanoamérica, como Francisco de Miranda, Simón Bolívar y José Martí. También se utilizó una amplia bibliografía, de la autoría de reconocidos especialistas en el tema. Para cumplimentar este objetivo, se valoraron los antecedentes, hechos y documentos fundamentales de la etapa, así como los factores políticos, económicos, demográficos, sociales y bélicos presentes en la misma. Además, el pensamiento de sus líderes y los intereses y objetivos de los grupos sociales. El resultado principal que se presenta es un análisis sobre esta importante etapa de la historia venezolana, donde se destacan los aciertos alcanzados, así como los problemas cardinales que lastraron su desarrollo. Del mismo modo, se valora la Constitución aprobada en este lapso, por ser uno de los documentos de mayor importancia y trascendencia histórica.
