Abstract

La investigación se realizó con el objetivo de diseñar un procedimiento metodológico integrado para la implementación de un Sistema de Gestión Ambiental que contribuya a mejorar el desempeño económico del Hotel Brisas Covarrubias. Para ello fue necesario realizar un análisis conceptual de la gestión ambiental empresarial y los sistemas de gestión ambiental en el sector turístico, elementos que contribuyeron a fundamentar el diseño del procedimiento. Se utilizaron métodos teóricos, empíricos y estadísticos que permitieron determinar los problemas que manifiestan el desfavorable desempeño ambiental del hotel. Se elaboró el procedimiento integrando aspectos económicos y ambientales sobre la base del estudio de la normativa vigente y la incorporación de componentes novedosos como: la caracterización de las variables ambientales, el diseño del sistema de información, el análisis de los indicadores ambientales, económicos y comerciales, y la identificación de los costos medioambientales; que unidos al compromiso de trabajadores y directivos, contribuirán a elevar los resultados de la gestión económica y ambiental de la instalación.
