Abstract

Este artículo presenta un nuevo capítulo de la investigación histórica emprendida por el autor, sobre la vida y obra del notable maestro y filósofo cubano de la primera mitad del siglo XIX José de la Luz y Caballero, y trata aspectos muy significativos acerca de su concepción naturalista sobre la religión. El objetivo general planteado está dirigido a revelar las características principales de concepción naturalista lucista de la religión como fenómeno social. Otro objetivo trazado por el autor está orientado hacia el análisis del roll pedagógico de dicha concepción en la formación de costumbres y formas de conducta individual y social, que contribuyeron a la formación de valores éticos e identitarios, necesarios para fomentar en los niños y jóvenes de la época profundos sentimientos de amor a la patria.
