Sistema tradicional utilizado en la producción de maíz en La Sierra Nevada de Puebla, México

Abstract

En México el cultivo del maíz, es una de las herencias culturales más ricas y antiguas. Las prácticas agrícolas y el conocimiento, que giran en torno a este cultivo, coexisten en nuestros días con los avances que desarrollan la ciencia y la tecnología. El presente trabajo muestra los resultados de investigación sobre el sistema productivo del maíz prevaleciente en la comunidad de San Felipe Teotlalzingo, ubicada en la sierra nevada de Puebla, México. Así como, la importancia que tiene este cultivo en el ámbito social y cultural. Con base en encuestas y entrevistas a los pobladores sobre su vida productiva, se exponen puntos que enlazan la cultura, conocimiento y aprendizaje de los habitantes entorno a este grano y le permite persistir a pesar de las innovaciones tecnológicas modernas.
