Tendencias actuales de la rendición de cuentas en el sector público administrativo

Abstract

El proceso de modernización del sector público ha supuesto un importante avance respecto al desarrollo de nuevas herramientas para la rendición de cuentas. En este trabajo se pone de manifiesto como los organismos internacionales de mayor representación están liderando un proceso de mejora en la rendición de cuentas que presenta a la ciudadanía como principal acreedor informativo. En este sentido, se muestra en las diferentes propuestas un modelo de información sustentado en los objetivos y necesidades de los grupos sociales y de la ciudadanía en general, tales como transparencia, integridad y rendición de cuentas en su sentido más amplio. En concreto, en el trabajo se abordan algunas iniciativas que se han puesto en marcha en las administraciones públicas de todo el mundo relacionadas con los conceptos de: buen gobierno, ciudadanía participativa, evaluación de políticas públicas, open government, gestión orientada a resultados y modelos de información sobre responsabilidad social.
