Sociedad y cultura en el batey del central Chaparra a la luz de las revistas locales entre 1920 y 1925

Abstract

El presente artículo es el punto de partida de un proyecto de mayor alcance. Se trata de la investigación Central Chaparra: la identidad cultural cubana vista a través de la sociedad y cultura local en una plantación azucarera de capital estadounidense de 1898 a 1933, que se realiza en el marco de la Maestría Historia y Cultura gestionada por el Centro de Estudios sobre Cultura e Identidad (CECI), adscrito a la Facultad de Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad de Holguín. Nuestro objetivo es exponer, desde una perspectiva crítica, el estudio de la sociedad y la cultura en el batey del central Chaparra, través de las revistas El Porvenir, Ideas, Chaparra Social e Ideales entre los años 1898 y 1933, lo que implicó la utilización método histórico- lógico, el análisis y crítica de fuentes y el hermenéutico.
