Conflicto Iglesia Católica-Revolución en el Término Municipal Holguín entre 1959 y 1976

Abstract

El presente artículo aborda las relaciones de la Iglesia Católica con el Estado Revolucionario entre 1959 y 1976 en el territorio del término municipal Holguín por la inexistencia de un estudio que las analice con la profundidad y rigor necesarios que revele sus peculiaridades e incidencia en la sociedad de dicho territorio. Se utilizaron fuentes primarias de archivos, entrevistas a personalidades de la Iglesia Católica del término municipal; las fuentes secundarias recogen la literatura científica que aborda la historia de la Iglesia Católica en Cuba y textos redactados por la Iglesia Católica, así como la obra de escritores del término municipal que se ha acercado a su historia. Se emplearon métodos teóricos (análisis y crítica de fuentes, hermenéutico e histórico-lógico) y empíricos (entrevista). Los resultados finales posibilitaron revelar dichas relaciones marcadas por el establecimiento de un conflicto entre ambas partes debido a las contradicciones entre las concepciones, intereses e ideología de la Iglesia Católica y las de las nuevas clases llegadas al poder.
