Abstract

El artículo aporta información sobre las particularidades de la Educación Musical en la escuela pública de la primera mitad del siglo XX, inexistente en la bibliografía hasta el momento, con lo que se tributa a la actualización de la historia de la educación y la pedagogía en Cuba, además contribuye al rescate de las raíces pedagógicas. Se aporta información relacionada con los principales hitos y personalidades de la época, que se convierte en recurso para los docentes en la formación inicial de los educadores artísticos actuales al favorecer la comprensión de su legado a la teoría y la práctica pedagógica contemporánea. El uso de métodos de los niveles teórico y empírico permitió revelar los fundamentos que sustentaron el proceso pedagógico y delimitar la periodización de la etapa estudiada.
