Abstract

La música metal ha ido a lo largo de su existencia, ganando adeptos que en lo general son grandes devotos de lo que implica el escuchar este tipo de música. Desde las vestimentas exóticas en color negro, el cabello largo o con algún corte o peinado extravagante, hasta atavíos de calaveras, cruces, símbolos de muerte u otra parafernalia esotéricos, el metalero se ha distinguido en la sociedad por su evidente discrepancia ideológica que deja ver en su composición visual y su música agresiva. Sin embargo, esto no es lo único que el metalero es y representa en sociedad. Los grupos de pertenencia, tribus urbanas y bandas metaleras han dejado testimonio de ser colectivos fanáticos, de mucha cohesión y de principios de bienestar común, derivado no solo de sus afinidades compartidas que degustan en conjunto, sino también ha sido producto de una serie de características muy particulares de aquellos quienes gustan del metal, como varios estudios han demostrado.
