¿Discriminaciã“N Y Racismo En Cuba Socialista?

Abstract

La sociedad cubana y las ciencias sociales se han abierto a un fructífero debate sobre los principales problemas que afectan el consenso nacional y las vías para enmendarlos. Nunca como antes en 60 años se vive un período de tan febril intercambio e investigación. Problemas como la pobreza, la corrupción, la diversidad sexual, la violencia de género, la equidad en el desarrollo territorial, ocupan un espacio creciente en los análisis. Especial lugar e interés despiertan las indagaciones sobre la discriminación y el racismo, temas hasta fecha reciente considerados tabúes. En el presente artículo se abordan las discusiones teóricas sobre razas, racismo en la Isla, las causalidades de su permanencia y principales manifestaciones de las formas estructurales y culturales que se pueden distinguir en el país. Se sugieren además diferentes direcciones estratégicas que pueden contribuir a erradicar o disminuir estas indeseables situaciones desde un enfoque multidimensional que involucra a toda la sociedad.
