Covid- 19, Embarazo Y Bioã‰Tica

Abstract

La pandemia por la infección del nuevo coronavirus (SARSCoV-2) durante el embarazo conlleva problemas bioéticos potenciales en obstetricia. El conocimiento disponible con relación al impacto de la COVID-19 en el embarazo es aún limitado, durante la gestación se experimentan cambios inmunológicos y fisiológicos ocasionando más susceptibilidad a las infecciones virales, incluido este virus, Para profundizar en la temática se realizó una amplia revisión bibliográfica con el objetivo de identificar algunos de los efectos de esta infección tanto para la gestante como para el producto de la concepción, así como el uso de la bioética en relación con la COVID-19. Se indagó acerca de algunos factores como: exposición de la gestante, efectos sobre el feto, modo de nacimiento, de internación una vez producido el nacimiento, el uso de la lactancia materna y complicaciones. Se llegó a la conclusión que se tiene un conocimiento incompleto en relación a la infección por COVID-19, embarazo y bioética, guiándose hasta el momento en el aprendizaje obtenido de brotes anteriores de los otros coronavirus, por lo que es indispensable manejar los principios bioéticos como la beneficencia y respeto por la autonomía además de la consideración del feto como paciente particularmente cuando hay viabilidad.
