Abstract

La educación es sin lugar a duda una piedra angular en el desarrollo de cualquier sociedad, ya que su calidad y eficiencia servirán como impulso para aumentar la productividad y competitividad de un país en la era moderna. El mundo hoy en día se encuentra azotado por una fuerte pandemia (COVID 19) lo que ha imposibilitado a las personas a desarrollar sus actividades cotidianas y nos ha exigido mantenernos seguros en casa. Es por ello que los autores de este artículo decidieron aprovechar el uso de las tecnologías y los nuevos avances de la ciencia y la técnica para llevar el aprendizaje del idioma ingles a las personas en sus casas; a través de un curso online. En este artículo se abordan todos los aspectos que se tuvieron en cuenta para el desarrollo de manera online de un curso de inglés básico auspiciado por profesores del Departamento de Lenguas Extranjeras de la Universidad de Guantánamo a raíz de las necesidades de superación en este idioma de las personas del territorio y los resultados obtenidos.
