Abstract

El presente trabajo muestra acciones que en Cuba se realizan para dar atención al Adulto Mayor. Dentro de estas acciones se incluyen las dirigidas a mejorar la calidad de vida ya sea mediante actividad física, integración social, control de hábitos tóxicos, vida más sana, empleo del tiempo libre, Cátedra universitaria del adulto mayor y otros. Elevar la calidad de vida del adulto mayor resulta una de las prioridades del estado cubano y para ello ha integrado a diferentes organismos: Salud, Deportes, Cultura y la Universidad con la Cátedra del adulto mayor. Además, en este trabajo se hace énfasis en acciones desarrolladas por el Centro Universitario Municipal Guisa en la cátedra del adulto mayor para el mejoramiento de la calidad de vida de la tercera edad. Se utilizaron métodos del nivel teórico como el Histórico-Lógico, el Análisis-Síntesis, el Inductivo-Deductivo y del nivel empírico se utilizó la revisión documental.
