Abstract

Este artículo aborda la historia de los nexos económicos, políticos, diplomáticos y socioculturales de Cuba y Japón entre 1902 y 1957 a partir de documentos atesorados en varios archivos cubanos y de otras fuentes. El marco temporal refiere el año de reconocimiento diplomático japonés de la República de Cuba y el momento cumbre de las relaciones entre ambas naciones al inaugurar embajadas en ambas capitales. El estudio llega a la conclusión de la existencia de varias etapas de las relaciones dentro del período seleccionado y refiere sus principales características.
