O engajamento e padrões de investimento do Corporate Venture Capital na indústria de capital de risco

Abstract

Os investimentos de Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) vêm ganhando espaço na indústria de capital de risco e já se destacam como uma das principais fontes de capital nesse mercado. No entanto, as particularidades das corporações os diferenciam dos fundos tradicionais independentes (IVC). Analisando uma amostra de 5.911 firmas dessas duas modalidades (836 CVCs e 5.075 IVCs) e que realizaram investimentos em venture capital entre janeiro de 2000 e setembro de 2020 nos EUA, estudamos qual o engajamento real dos CVCs nesse mercado e como se diferenciam dos IVCs em termos de padrões de investimentos.
