Evolución socioeconómica de San Agustín de Aguarás en el periodo de 1902-1952

Abstract

Los barrios y asentamientos rurales constituyen espacios de desarrollo regional. San Agustín de Aguarás, formó parte de los 43 barrios rurales del antiguo municipio de Holguín y se destacó por la producción de viandas y la ganadería. Es por ello que el objetivo general de la investigación es realizar una caracterización socioeconómica del barrio rural de San Agustín de Aguarás, del municipio de Calixto García, perteneciente al antiguo municipio de Holguín, en el periodo 1902-1952. Para profundizar en el estudio se utilizó el método de estudio de caso como herramienta fundamental para abordar en profundidad los rasgos económicos y socioculturales de dicho asentamiento. La investigación contribuye al enriquecimiento de la memoria histórica del municipio, provincia y del país.
