La Brecha Digital Y La Desigualdad Social En Las Regiones De Oaxaca, Mã‰Xico

Abstract

En el contexto de la sociedad de la información, las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación (TIC) constituyen herramientas que pueden potenciar el crecimiento económico en los países que las incorporan en su estructura productiva como activo para la creación y difusión del conocimiento. No obstante, los cambios suscitados por la revolución tecnológica se han realizado en un entorno de desigualdad social, provocando una nueva división entre las personas denominada brecha digital, la cual representa un obstáculo para el desarrollo económico y social de los países. Es importante medir la magnitud de la brecha digital y estudiar los factores que la determinan para plantear estrategias que propicien su reducción. En esta investigación se analiza la brecha digital en las regiones de Oaxaca, México mediante los coeficientes de Gini y localización, asimismo, se examinan los factores de desigualdad social que caracterizan a las regiones y determinan las diferencias de acceso a las TIC en los hogares.
