La ventaja competitiva como elemento fundamental de la estrategia y su relación con el sector servicios de la actividad turística

Abstract

La generación y mantenimiento de la ventaja competitiva, constituye el elemento fundamental para el éxito de las organizaciones, especialmente bajo el fenómeno de la globalización, donde los mercados se han tornado altamente exigentes. El presente documento plantea una exploración de la literatura disponible, relativa al constructo Ventaja Competitiva, observándolo como una de las principales escuelas del pensamiento estratégico, ubicándola como la escuela del posicionamiento; misma que es abordada desde dos vertientes distintas la teoría de la ventaja competitiva (Porter, 1980) y la teoría de los recursos y las capacidades (Barney, 1991). Destacando su incidencia en el sector servicios, especialmente en la actividad turística de la cual el sector hotelero es pieza fundamental.
