La pobreza en Chile post dictatorial: un análisis desde la economía crítica

Abstract

En el presente artículo se discute la medición de la pobreza en Chile. Su objetivo es contrastar la disonancia entre los resultados oficiales y las percepciones de la población. Los primeros muestran significativos recortes en la tasa de pobreza entre 1990 y 2003 y las segundas, medidas en las encuestas de opinión mantienen este problema como uno de los principales del país. Para ello, el documento se divide en tres partes. En la primera se presentan los resultados oficiales y los de las encuestas de opinión. En la segunda se analiza la medición de la pobreza y en la tercera se plantea la controversia central. El documento finaliza con algunas conclusiones.
