Abstract

El mes de abril trajo para los Estados Unidos una noticia que levantó muchas criticas y preocupaciones, y es que en total perecieron 100 soldados americanos en Irak. Este elevado número de bajas trajo una gran cantidad de debates, porque a pesar de estar en guerra en ese país, representa una cifra bien importante. Sin embargo, muy lejos de todo eso, en nuestro país y en ese mismo mes tuvimos según informaciones oficiales (aun cuando fuentes periodísticas hablan de más de 250 muertes violentas en abril), un total de 169 muertes violentas, cifra que indica que en Venezuela mueren más de 2 personas diarias que las bajas que tiene el ejercito norteamericano en Irak.
