Las indagaciones de la misión Kemmerer en Colombia y sus aportes en el inicio de los programas de ciencias económicas

Abstract

El artículo que se presenta a continuación hace parte de una investigación de largo alcance1 que pretendió indagar sobre los inicios de dos profesiones, administración y economía, las cuales vienen viviendo una crisis en estos momentos en Colombia y el mundo. Se intentó levantar información histórica sobre el proceso evolutivo de las dos disciplinas que fueron relevantes para el desarrollo económico y empresarial en el siglo XX. Para ello fue necesario averiguar sobre las misiones económicas internacionales contratadas por Colombia. En este artículo se abordó la misión económica Kemmerer, considerada el preámbulo de los programas de ciencias económicas en este país Latinoamericano. Así mismo buscó identificar cuáles fueron las implicaciones más significativas de la misión en el desarrollo económico del país.
