El Capital Físico como Determinante del Crecimiento Manufacturero

Abstract

El objetivo fundamental de este trabajo se centra en analizar los efectos económicos del capital físico privado y público sobre el output manufacturero de la economía española en el período 19901999 bajo un enfoque provincial. Con este fin se estimará, bajo distintas especificaciones, una función de producción tipo CobbDouglas mediante técnicas de datos de panel. Los resultados obtenidos permiten constatar la relación positiva que se establece entre el output industrial y el capital físico productivo. Asimismo, las variables ficticias estimadas para cada provincia posibilitan realizar una clasificación según la mayor o menor disposición que éstas presenten para el desarrollo de actividades manufactureras. Por último, se analiza cual ha sido el origen de las disparidades provinciales registradas en términos de output a lo largo del período de estudio.
