El Zollverein: un paso primordial camino a la unificación alemana

Abstract

Desde la mayor parte de la historiografía se ha analizado a la Unión Aduanera Alemana fundamentalmente desde un punto de vista político y militar. Es por ello, que este trabajo se propone realizar un aporte a los estudios con un enfoque económico sobre la Unión Aduanera Alemana, más conocida como Zollverein. Estos aspectos económicos propiciaron la base de un tipo de industrialización distinta al modelo británico que estaba en auge desde tiempos de la Primera Revolución Industrial. Una vertiente económica similar, condujo, al finalizar la Segunda Guerra Mundial a la creación de la Comunidad Económica Europea, la cual como se verá, se basó en un antecedente de unificación económica que fue la base de la unificación política.
