O itapecuru e o tempo: rio e natureza territorializada

Abstract

Este texto tem o objetivo de expor um olhar sobre o rio Itapecuru, segundo maior rio maranhense e o mais importante economicamente para o estado do Maranhão. Priorizou-se o resgate histórico das dinâmicas sociais que tiveram e ainda hoje têm relação com o rio, com base em dados bibliográficos e etnográficos decorrentes de pesquisa socioantropológica que buscou a compreensão do modo de direção do ecossistema relativo ao rio pelas sociedades a ele relacionadas, em termos de governança de um rio entendido enquanto território sujeito a intervenções políticas e econômicas.
