Desarrollo regional y políticas públicas: la experiencia del municipio de Santa Cruz do Sul/RS y la prevención del suicidio en la región del Valle del Río Pardo

Abstract

Este trabajo tiene como objetivo presentar las experiencias de prevención del suicidio instituidas en Brasil y en el estado de Rio Grande do Sul, y la relación de mediación de las regiones, basadas en los conceptos de Desarrollo Regional. Se presenta brevemente la relación entre la escala regional y el fenómeno del suicidio, mostrando datos secundarios sobre las tasas de mortalidad por suicidio en los municipios que conforman la región del Valle del Río Pardo, algunos de los cuales tienen las tasas de suicidio más altas del país. El estudio presenta el proceso de construcción del Comité Municipal para la Prevención del Suicidio en el municipio de Santa Cruz do Sul/RS como una experiencia positiva para ampliar el debate sobre el desarrollo regional en torno al tema.
