El rol de las universidades en la gestión del conocimiento en México

Abstract

El conocimiento ha ocupado siempre el lugar central del crecimiento económico y de la elevación progresiva del bienestar social. La capacidad de inventar e innovar, es decir, de crear nuevos conocimientos y nuevas ideas que se materializan luego en productos, procedimientos y organizaciones, ha alimentado históricamente al desarrollo. En todo tiempo han existido organizaciones e instituciones eficaces en la creación y difusión de conocimientos, desde las corporaciones de la Edad Media hasta las grandes empresas de comienzos de siglo y desde las abadías cistercienses hasta las academias científicas reales que surgen a partir del siglo XVII. (David & Foray, 2002). La gestión del conocimiento data de la década de 1950, no es hasta mediados de 1980 que cobro auge en el entorno empresarial. En esa década se desarrollaron los sistemas de gestión del conocimiento basados en la inteligencia artificial y los sistemas expertos. Debido a la relación entre gestión del conocimiento y los sistemas basados en el conocimiento, así como las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación, propician procesos o actividades complejas que permiten producir y difundir el saber.
