Síndrome de Burnout y calidad de atención del personal de enfermería de un hospital general en la provincia de Manabi, Ecuador

Abstract

El síndrome de burnout es descrito como una inadecuada forma de afrontar el estrés laboral, los rasgos principales son el agotamiento emocional, la despersonalización y disminución del desempeño personal, se ha generado en profesionales que mantienen una relación constante y directa con otras personas. Precisamente se describe en profesiones de ayuda que tienen como objeto de labor otro sujeto y ha sido en los últimos años objeto de estudio a nivel nacional e internacional. La profesión que los estudios señalan como la más afectada por este síndrome es la del personal de enfermería, que tiene como tarea fundamental la satisfacción de las necesidades de los individuos. Esta investigación tiene como objetivo analizar la presencia de síndrome de burnout en el personal de enfermería y su relación con la calidad de atención prestada en un hospital general de la provincia de Manabí, Ecuador. Se trata de un estudio de tipo analítico de corte transversal de prevalencia y factores asociados, entre los resultados obtenidos se encuentra la tendencia del personal de enfermería a desarrollar burnout y la relación que existe entre el síndrome de burnout y la satisfacción del usuario de los servicios hospitalarios.
