Estado, território e repressão: da vigilância à globalização

Abstract

Com o advento do capitalismo, o Estado não pode abandonar sua anterior configuração de Estado-fiscal, vez que dependente da drenagem de excedente de produção sob a forma de recursos econômicos para convertê-los em capital administrativo. Com isso, a vigilância e o controle ainda se fazem necessários como forma de conter as ameaças e riscos advindos pela modernidade. Todavia, tem-se um paradoxo, consistente no fato da coexistência desse Estado de vigilância com a permeabilização de fronteiras para os fluxos econômicos de capital, bens e trabalho.
