Prevalencia de género en la escuela de bibliotecología, documentación y archivo de la Universidad Técnica de Manabí

Abstract

El presente trabajo tiene por objetivo analizar mediante un estudio bibliográfico y de campo la prevalencia de género en la Escuela de Bibliotecología, Documentación y Archivo de la Universidad Técnica de Manabí, considerando la importancia que tiene la equidad de género en las políticas educativas donde se garantiza la inclusión de muchos sectores poblacionales que en determinado momento sienten vulnerados sus derechos. Esta situación, permite reflexionar sobre los roles del género y las acciones que se deben establecer para el logro de su igualdad. Para fundamentar las bases teóricas se hizo uso del método del análisis documental de las investigaciones realizadas por expertos en el tema. Entre los resultados se destaca que hay una prevalencia aceptable del género masculino con un número de 132 integrantes; aunque, la diferencia con las de sexo femenino es mínimo, total 135 estudiantes de los 267 matriculados en la Escuela de Bibliotecología. Las conclusiones apuntan hacia el diseño de una estrategia para integrar la promoción de la igualdad de género de forma transversal que justifique la implementación de una política transversal de equidad de género entre personal administrativo, profesores y estudiantes.
