Violãšncia Urbana E Polã Ticas Pãšblicas De Seguranã‡A: A Realidade Do Programa Pro Paz No Bairro Da Terra-Firme Em Belã‰M/Pa-Brasil

Abstract

O presente artigo realiza uma análise acerca do Programa Governamental de Política Pública de Disseminação da Paz (Pro Paz), uma política pública de segurança implantada em Belém/PA, Brasil, com o escopo de reduzir a violência urbana. Objetiva-se, primeiramente, determinar um conceito de violência apto a refletir a realidade social, para então estudar a política pública mencionada. Em seguida, apresentam-se os elementos estruturais das políticas públicas, assim como sua definição, bem como os elementos básicos do Pro Paz. Para se verificar se o programa governamental está obtendo resultados positivos, são apresentadas as percepções dos moradores do bairro da Terra Firme, local onde a política se encontra implantada, das lideranças do bairro, e dos agentes de segurança pública. Conclui-se que, por diversos fatores, o programa PROPAZ não alcança o êxito pretendido.
