FUNDAMENTOS DA VIDA ANIMAL: uma abordagem filosófica e legal

Abstract

Este artigo pretende descrever os fundamentos religiosos, filosóficos e legais dos direito dos animais. A discussão parte de reflexões sobre os fundamentos citados baseado na relação de respeito entre as espécies, considerando os animais não humanos capazes também de dignidade. A metodologia utilizada foi à revisão bibliográfica através de livros e sites da internet. O resultado da pesquisa bem como a conclusão do estudo aponta que muito embora existam diversos dispositivos sociais e legais que justifiquem as considerações sobre os direitos dos animais, esses ainda não são respeitados, fato este que pode ser explicado pela visão antropocêntrica do ser humano assim como a falta de aplicação das legislações pertinentes, em todos os níveis.
