As Mulheres Por Trás Dos Homens: Discursos Promulgados Pelos Almanachs De Pelotas E Seus Reclames (1913-1935)

Abstract

O texto a seguir tem como objetos de análise os Almanachs de Pelotas e seus reclames, publicados na cidade de Pelotas, ao sul do Rio Grande do Sul, entre os anos de 1913 e 1935. Estes objetos são apreciados com vistas a refletir acerca da construção de discursos em torno das relações entre gênero feminino e gênero masculino. Tendo em vista que gênero é uma categoria de análise construída culturalmente, que emerge dentro de um contexto temporal e espacial, a cidade de Pelotas é abordada no período em questão, da mesma forma que o próprio periódico e a tipologia de publicação. Logo a seguir são apresentados exemplos de discursos verbais e iconográficos (textos dos Almanachs e reclames) como forma de ilustrar o discurso promovido por este meio de comunicação, com vistas a assegurar os papéis entre homens e mulheres que até então estavam determinados.
