Abstract

La presente investigación tiene como finalidad fundamental mostrar la realidad de la desigualdad de género en el municipio de Matlapa, San Luis Potosí. La desigualdad entre hombres y mujeres es un tema de cual poco se ha estudiado en la región. Y como es de suponerse, en los pueblos indígenas de la región Huasteca del estado es muy común encontrar casos en los que el hombre ejerce un control casi total sobre la vida de la mujer Huasteca, ya sea en el ámbito laboral, doméstico o académico entre muchos otros. Los resultados muestran que existe muchos estereotipos entorno al rol de la mujer dentro de una sociedad predominantemente machista, la cual asocia a la mujer con el hogar y la crianza de los hijos, a pesar de que en nuestros tiempos podemos ver a mujeres líderes en todos los terrenos donde se creyó que la mujer jamás tendría injerencia.
