Abstract

En pleno siglo XXI algunos estudios cifran en más de seis mil las lenguas que se hablan en nuestro mundo. De esta cifra, una veintena puede considerarse importante por su extensión y producción escrita. Pero, retrocediendo en el tiempo y, tomando como base una cita del Génesis: “ tenía entonces toda la tierra una sola lengua y unas mismas palabras”, nos planteamos una cuestión que ha preocupado a diversas disciplinas desde tiempos remotos, ¿ de dónde surgue tal diversidad?, ¿ cuál es el origen de las lenguas?
