Discalculia y el Bajo Rendimiento Académico

Abstract

La adquisición de conocimientos es esencial para la instrucción formal del ser humano, este proceso en ocasiones se encuentra afectado por problemas cognitivos que dificultan el aprendizaje en especial en la resolución de operaciones matemáticas que afecta la vida cotidiana del niño, provocando un bajo rendimiento académico y en ocasiones negación o abandono al estudio de la misma. De acuerdo a la investigación de varias fuentes bibliográficas, indican que la detección de este trastorno de aprendizaje se presenta en niños de etapa escolar presentando varios síntomas similares a los del lenguaje como la dislexia, los estudiantes que lo padecen deben ser tratados de la misma manera sin distinción a sus compañeros. Por esta razón, el objetivo de esta investigación es conocer las causas de este trastorno para brindar el apoyo pedagógico necesario de acuerdo a las estrategias que conduzcan a alcanzar los logros planteados, siendo uno de ellos el uso indispensable del material concreto que permite la percepción y atención del niño.
